For golfers who want to look the part and play the part, Castore Golf is one of the best high-performance clothing brands to bring out your inner Matt Fitzpatrick. Whether it’s to freshen up your fairway fashion or start building your wardrobe basics, Castore’s premium materials and athlete-centric designs are the perfect place to start.
As one of very few Castore stockists in the UK, we’re big fans of the brand. But exactly who is Castore clothing a good fit for? Where is it made? And why is it held in such high esteem among golfers and athletes? Let’s get up close with this major golfing trailblazer…
Who owns Castore clothing?
British sportswear brand Castore was founded in 2015 by Tom and Phil Beahone, brothers and former sportsmen from Liverpool. Born from a mission to create high-performance sportswear for athletes who demand the best, the brothers began gifting Castore products to influencers in 2017. Their dedication to continuous improvement in both design and materials has driven Castore to become a global name in premium sportswear in less than a decade.
Where is Castore clothing made?
While the company is predominantly based in the UK, Castore’s co-founder Phil Beahon states that the brand’s clothing is manufactured in 80 factories globally, centred in seven key manufacturing locations, fully mapped and independently audited for social compliance. Beahon also states that, where possible, Castore works with suppliers to trace the sources of cotton fibres and seeks documentary evidence to support the transparency of its supply routes.
Who is Castore clothing best for?
Specialising in green, navy, and neutral golf tops, from short-sleeve polo shirts to long sweaters, Castore's golf gear allows players of all abilities to move and swing with ease. Been invited for an 18-hole round and have no idea what to wear? You might also want some golf trousers or shorts. Castore’s high-stretch, lightweight, water-resistant range ensures you’ll enjoy unrestricted movements while staying super comfy on the course.
For colder days on the green, Castore’s jackets, hoodies, and gilets are specially crafted to keep you warm and comfortable while regulating body temperature. With quick-drying fabric that stretches four ways, and lightweight, ergonomic designs, every swing you make feels satisfyingly supple.
Who wears Castore clothing?
Castore is worn by elite athletes across different sports, including golf, tennis, football, cricket, and Formula 1. Tennis pro Andy Murray was first to be signed in 2019, later becoming a key investor in the brand. In 2022, Castore Golf signed two-time Ryder Cup player Matt Fitzpatrick, who became the third Englishman to win the US Open that year. Four-time DP World Tour winner and 2016 Ryder Cup player Andy Sullivan has also been spotted sporting Castore’s golf collection.
What makes Castore Golf superior?
With its commitment to creating the most technical sportswear in the global market, each piece in every Castore Golf collection is designed with one goal in mind – to make golfers better. Mixing advanced engineering with technical, lightweight fabrics, such as flatlock stitching and breathable mesh seams, this commitment is evident in the flattering fit, comforting feel, and optimal performance on the course.
